Control Systems
The boiler industry has changed over time from the standard flame safe guard to a more sophisticated PLC based burner control systems. Our Technicians are factory trained on the replacement and upgrade of these systems. Cleaver-Brooks’ own PLC based burner control system, the HAWK ICS, is a state-of-the-art operating system that offers remote monitoring, parallel positioning, and O2 trim, to name only a few of its extensive benefits. Our New Equipment Sales department will help you determine which HAWK system best fits your application and will work closely with you to ensure your satisfaction.
Cleaver-Brooks offers many more control systems than those listed here. Please visit their website for more information regarding all of their other options, and feel free to contact us with any questions.
The CB Hawk ICS is a totally integrated control system embodying precise boiler/burner management control and safety with logic based ancillary devices and functions. The result is a coordinated system which maximizes efficiency, reduces operating costs, and increases productivity; delivering critical real time and historic information with the touch of a screen! Using today’s state-of-the-art technology, the CB Hawk ICS soars to a new level. It combines a high powered, high speed processor with sophisticated intercommunication protocol (“Ethernet/IP”) for controlling and monitoring all of the important boiler operating and safety functions in one simple expandable package.
CB Level Master
Boiler manufacturers have been striving for years to provide safe and reliable equipment. The high standards they must comply with, such as ASME, UL, CSD-1, NFPA, cUL, etc., have helped then deliver products that are safer and provide more peace of mind. Technology is the primary reason why boiler safety has increased on the last 20 years. Microprocessors and solid state based components have proven to be extremely reliable and effective replacements to the old electromechanical controls which were prevalent for so many years. Unfortunately the low water cut-off system, the primary safety control on the boiler, has often gone overlooked. Considered by many as the most important safety device on the boiler, the typical low water cut-off and pump offered today function much as they did 75 years ago. Cleaver-Brooks created the CB Level Master knowing that this was a vulnerable area. They wanted to provide their customers with the safest boilers possible, and decided to take action. The basis of design called for the use of a microprocessor based control system which embraced 6 essential criteria: Simplicity, Safety, Security, Dependability, Adaptability, and Environment.
The result is the revolutionary CB Level Master low water cutoff and pump control using the proven magnetostrictive technology (used for many years in various industries for measuring exact level and distance relationships), in conjunction with a solid state sensor and microprocessor based controller.
